Step 1
In a skillet, heat *olive oil* over medium heat. Add the *ground veal or beef* and sauté until it's halfway cooked.

While the meat is cooking, you can prepare your *béchamel sauce*. In a saucepan, combine *flour* and *butter*, cooking over medium heat while whisking constantly.
If the mixture remains lumpy, add a bit more *butter* until smooth. Once melted, gradually add *warm milk* and a pinch of *salt*.
Continue to stir and cook for 8-10 minutes until thickened. If you prefer a thinner sauce, feel free to add more milk; for a thicker sauce, simply cook it a bit longer.
Step 3
Start by greasing your baking dish with a bit of *béchamel sauce*. Place the *lasagna sheets* at the bottom (there's no need to pre-cook them).
Add a layer of the *meat filling*, then some *béchamel sauce*, followed by grated * mozzarella* and *mozzarella balls*. Repeat the layers until you've used all the ingredients.
Finish with a last layer of *lasagna sheets* topped generously with *béchamel sauce* and more *cheese*.
Step 4
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven at *180°C (356°F)* for 20-25 minutes.
After this time, remove the foil and place it back in the oven for another 5 minutes using the broil function to achieve a *golden crust* on the cheese.
Step 5
Before serving, feel free to sprinkle with grated *Parmesan cheese* and garnish with a sprig of *basil*.
