Instructions

Step 1

Prepare Documents and Essentials

Gather all necessary documents such as your exchange card, passport, and relevant health insurance paperwork like SNILS. Make sure to include a few copies of your passport as well.

Don’t forget to pack water and your maternity underwear. Consider bringing a larger size for comfort. Also, include a delivery gown for yourself; if it’s not provided, simply ask your healthcare professional.

Lastly, pack some diapers (90x60), approximately 3 to 5 pieces, along with a pair of washable slippers and some wet wipes (art. 9000213).

Step 2

Pack Baby's Essentials for Delivery Room

Make sure to pack the baby's essentials including diapers, a warm hat, and cozy socks. Additionally, bring a soft blanket to keep the baby comfortable during their first moments.

Step 3

Prepare Postpartum Essentials

After childbirth, prioritize your comfort. Bring your own washable slippers and comfortable underwear. Ideally, have at least two sets of pajamas for your stay.

You'll also need a cutlery set, which includes a mug, plate, spoon, and fork, plus a kitchen towel for cleanliness. Don’t forget your bedding set, including a sheet and pillowcase to feel at home.

For hygiene and comfort, pack a cosmetic bag, toilet seat covers, and some bibs for your baby. It’s also essential to have cotton pads and swabs, plenty of toilet paper, and a phone charger.

Bring large and small towels for your needs, along with postpartum underwear (art. 28397730), large pads, and some snacks to keep your energy up, like cookies, bars, tea, or coffee.

Keep hydrated with plenty of water and consider a nightlight and thermometer for monitoring. Pack Microlax and two bags for dirty laundry—one for you and one for the baby.

For breastfeeding, include breast pads (art. 7369104) and a couple of comfortable nursing bras (art. 243331401). Don’t forget wet wipes for quick clean-ups, and lanolin for sore nipples, as well as disposable diapers (90x60) - 7 to 10 pieces.

Step 4

Pack Baby Clothes and Supplies

For the baby’s stay, pack plenty of clothing, around 8 to 10 onesies as they tend to get dirty quickly in the first days of life. Include at least 2 pairs of warmer socks and 3 mittens. Consider bodysuits that include mittens for ease of use.

Prepare 3 caps and an outfit for going home. Also, bring a supply of bibs (3 to 4 pieces) for extra protection.

Don’t forget to pack about 5 to 6 diapers (art. 263812317) and a soft blanket to wrap your baby in. Include 5 disposable diapers (90x60) and approximately 15 additional diapers for daily use.

For cleaning, pack a washing gel and some cotton pads for simple washing. Lastly, include wet wipes and a few pacifiers that you’ve sterilized ahead of time.

Servings

When it comes to serving suggestions, comfort is key! After the excitement of delivery, you might want to make your space feel a bit more homey. Bring along a lovely soft blanket to snuggle up with during those early tired moments. Pair it with your favorite pillow for extra comfort!

After childbirth, treat yourself to a moment of relaxation. Brew your favorite herbal tea and enjoy it while holding your little one. This cozy setup not only boosts your mood but also gives you cherished moments to bond with your newborn. 🌸

And don’t forget to indulge! Pack some delicious biscuits or muffins. They not only make a great snack but are perfect for sharing with visitors as well. 💕

Variations

If you're looking for gluten-free options, consider snacking on rice cakes or nuts to keep your energy up. Bring along individually packaged gluten-free protein bars that don’t require cooking – easy peasy!

For a vegan touch, pack hummus and vegetable sticks for a healthy crunch during your hospital stay. You could also add vegan protein cookies or banana chips – perfect for munching on while nourishing your body and keeping your spirits high! 🌱✨

Faq

  • What size hospital bag should I bring?

A medium to large duffel bag is ideal. It should fit everything comfortably while still being easy to carry.

  • How many diapers should I pack for my baby?

For the hospital stay, packing around 10-15 newborn diapers should be sufficient. You can always have more on hand for your return home.

  • Is it necessary to bring my own toiletries?

While hospitals provide some toiletries, bringing your own allows you to feel more comfortable and refreshed during your stay.

  • Should I pack more clothes for myself or my baby?

It’s good to have enough outfits for both! Babies tend to need more changes due to messes, so over-pack a little for them.

  • Can I bring my own pillow?

Yes! Bringing a personal pillow with your favorite pillowcase can certainly enhance your comfort during your hospital stay.

  • What snacks should I avoid packing?

Avoid packing strong-smelling or messy snacks, such as tuna or yogurt, as they might disturb other patients and can be inconvenient to handle.
