Step 1
Start by preheating your oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit). In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter and sugar, and beat them together until the mixture is light and fluffy.
Gradually add in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each one is well incorporated before adding the next. Next, mix in the milk and vanilla extract.
Finally, sift the flour and baking powder together, and add them into the wet ingredients. Stir until just combined, making sure not to overmix.
Step 2
Pour the cake batter into a greased baking dish. Use a spatula to spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the dish for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 4
Shape the crumbled cake into a hill on a serving plate, ensuring the sides are nicely rounded. Use the remaining chocolate to create uneven patterns that resemble an ant hill.
Finally, sprinkle crushed nuts on top and add edible flowers for decoration, if desired. Your Ant Hill Cake is now ready to impress your guests!
