Instructions
Step 1
Start by taking the puff pastry out of the packaging. Roll it out on a floured surface until it's about 3 millimeters thick. Then cut the pastry into elongated triangles, which will be the base for your pizza twists.
Ensure that the triangles are large enough to hold your desired filling.
Step 2
Take the triangle-shaped pastry pieces and place them slightly overlapping in the form of a twist. Spread the sauce (mayonnaise mixed with ketchup or any other sauce you prefer) on the wider part of the triangle.
Now, layer with salami, pieces of tomato, pickles, and sprinkle the grated cheese generously over the filling. Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling and press them firmly to seal.
For any leftover pastry scraps, place them in the empty spaces to make the twists more substantial.
Step 3
Preheat your oven to 200 degrees Celsius (about 400 degrees Fahrenheit). Brush the twists with the egg yolk to give them a nice golden color while baking. Then, sprinkle sesame seeds on top for added flavor and texture.
Place the assembled pizza twists on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in the oven for about 25 minutes or until they are golden brown. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
Step 4
Once baked, remove your pizza twists from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Serve immediately for the best taste experience. They are perfect for parties or a cozy night in.
Enjoy your freshly made puff pastry pizza twists with family and friends!

Faq
- Can I use homemade puff pastry?
Absolutely, homemade puff pastry can add a wonderful touch, but store-bought is convenient and just as delicious for rapid preparation!
- What can I substitute if I don't have salami?
Feel free to use any deli meat, or even go entirely vegetarian with roasted vegetables or cheese!
- How do I know when the pizza crescents are done?
Look for a golden-brown color and a puffiness that indicates they’ve cooked through. Typically, around 25 minutes at 200°C should do the trick!
- Can I make them ahead of time?
Yes! You can assemble them in advance and keep them in the fridge until you're ready to bake. Just add a little extra time in the oven if they are cold!
- What's the best way to store leftovers?
Store any leftovers in an airtight container. They can be reheated in the oven for the best texture.
- Can I freeze them?
Definitely! Freeze them before baking, and when you're ready, just pop them straight into the oven without thawing!
